The Battle of Mons Graupius was fought between the Roman army, led by General Gnaeus Julius Agricola, and the Caledonian tribes, likely in the year 83 or 84 AD. The Romans claimed victory, which helped secure their control over much of what is now southern Scotland, marking a significant moment in the Roman conquest of Britain.
