Yorkist forces loyal to King Edward IV defeated the Lancastrian rebels led by Henry Beaufort, 3rd Duke of Somerset. Fought in September 1464 in Northumberland, the battle ended in the capture and execution of Somerset, weakening Lancastrian resistance in the north during the Wars of the Roses.
