The Battle of Dunnichen Hill Cairn was fought in 685 AD between the Picts led by King Bridei mac Bili and the Northumbrian forces under King Ecgfrith. The Picts won a decisive victory, halting Northumbrian expansion into Pictish territory and preserving their independence.
