Situated just NW of the seventh tee on golf course; a platform associated with the tee-off occupies the SE quadrant of the monument. A circular ring-barrow (max. ext. diam. 18m) defined by a central mound (base diam. 15m ; H 0.3m) and a fosse. Traces of an outer bank at W appear to be modern associated with golf course trackway here. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran. A Neolithic ring-barrow; significant as a rare surviving example of early funerary architecture in the region.
