What is recorded here
Barrow is an almost levelled ring-barrow in County Cork, marked only by a shallow fosse, a low external bank and one radial stone set into the northern edge. It sits on a south-facing pasture slope near another cairn and barrow, suggesting a place where people repeated the same circular gesture across open ground. The grass may have swallowed the rest, but the surviving line and stone still point toward a forgotten act of marking, burying or remembering.
In pasture, on S-facing slope c. 40m E of cairn (11803) and c. 110m S of ring-barrow (11843). Almost levelled circular area (6.9m N-S; 6.5m E-W) enclosed by fosse with external bank (int. H 0.65m; ext. H 0.75m). Stone (H 0.3m; 0.4m x 0.15m) set radially into bank to N.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Neolithic ring-barrow, c. 2500–2000 BCE; a type of burial monument associated with early farming communities in Ireland. Its location near other barrows and a cairn suggests it is part of a wider funerary landscape.
