Barrow

In generally level pasture, located on a slight rise in level pasture 40m S of the Glenreeor Owenmore River. There is rising ground to S. Not indicated on the 1837-8 OS 6-inch map, but shown on the 1922 edition. Slightly raised circular area (diam. 10m) defined by low sod-covered bank (Wth. 2.5m; int. H 0.2; ext. H 0.7m) of earth and stone. The bank is somewhat eroded at N, and incorporates field clearance stones at NE-E. It is ringed with hawthorn and brambles. This may be an embanked barrow, and in this light it is interesting to note a ringbarrow (MA031-013----) located on the opposite bank of the river lies c. 115m to NNW.
