In reclaimed pasture, in N quadrant of a group of barrows (LI040-048001-/048005-). Not marked on OSi historic maps. Possible site (No. 040257) identified as a circular cropmark during examination of aerial photographs (BGE 1/50000, 2549) taken 03/11/1984 on the Bórd Gáis Éireann gas pipeline. No surface remains visible of any cropmark immediately S of a post-1700 field boundary on OSi orthophoto taken between 2005-12. Possible faint cropmark visible on Google Earth orthoimages. Ditch barrow, likely dating to the Early Bronze Age. Its location within a group of barrows suggests it is part of a significant funerary landscape, possibly associated with early ritual or burial practices in the region.
