Barbara Leigh Smith Bodichon was a pioneering advocate for women's rights and education in Victorian Britain, co-founding Girton College, Cambridge, the first college for higher education of women. She also contributed to early feminist literature, including "A Brief Summary, in Plain Language, of the Most Important Laws at Present Existing in England, Concerning Women."
