Bambro Castle was a nineteenth-century schooner lost in the Firth of Clyde, not a stone castle at all. The name may have belonged to the ship, its owner or the place it sailed from, but the sea kept that part of the story. What remains is a vessel broken into the coastal record, carrying a castle title into water where no walls could stand.
