Gateway, extant 1905, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of rendered, ruled and lined piers having finial-topped cut-granite stepped capping supporting spear head-detailed wrought iron double gates with rendered, ruled and lined outer piers having cut-granite shallow pyramidal capping supporting spear head-detailed wrought iron gates. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Ballynestragh.
A gateway forming part of a self-contained group alongside the remains of a gate lodge (see 15700709) with the resulting ensemble making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene at the entrance on to the grounds of the Ballynestragh estate.
