Ballymacdermott Court Tomb stands 600 feet up a mountain slope in County Armagh, built around 3250 BC to hold the dead beneath massive stones. John Bell and Jonathon Seavers opened it in 1816 and found an urn of pulverized bone, while later excavations revealed cremations, flint and ceramics. Local people also claimed a U.S. Army tank had disturbed the stones during the Second World War, giving the ancient place a sudden modern scar.
