Auchenskeoch Castle Farm, Horse Gin was a 19th-century horse engine house where local animals may have trod a wheel to pump water or drive farm tools. The building translated animal strength into useful motion, likely for drainage, cleaning or processing on the estate. It is no longer a castle or a grand public monument, but a small machine house that showed how much work horses did before engines took over.
