Auchencairn

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Auchencairn as Cairn (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Auchencairn is a Neolithic cairn, likely dating to the Early to Middle Neolithic period (c. 4000–3500 BCE). Its significance lies in contributing to the understanding of prehistoric funerary and ritual practices in southern Scotland.
