This green commemorative plaque records: The improved Terrace Road was officially declared open by the chairman of the Highways and Works Sub Committee on 29th April 1996 and this mosaic sponsored by Tarmac Construction Ltd represents a design by the artist Aubrey Beardsley (1872-1898) who lived for some time in "Muriel", the house which formerly occupied this corner site Recorded plaque organisation: Borough of Bournemouth.
Aubrey Beardsley was an influential English illustrator and writer known for his distinctive black-and-white designs, contributing significantly to the Aesthetic and Decadent movements of the late 19th century.
