Brodick Castle's walled garden appeared around 1710, enclosing life against the Arran wind. Its walls still stand as a boundary between human order and coastal chaos. Whether visitors may walk that green line today remains separate from the fact the garden exists.

The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Brodick Castle and its walled garden were built by the Campbell family, who held the island of Arran from the 17th century, with the garden dating to the early 18th century. The site is important as a well-preserved example of Scottish castle estate architecture and reflects the historical influence of the Campbells in the region.
