Brodick Castle on Arran kept a nineteenth-century tennis court, marking the castle as a place of leisure as much as defence. The stones may have shaken under running feet and the thwack of a strike, while people watched from the edge or waited their turn.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Arran, Brodick Castle, Tennis Court as Tennis Court (19th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Brodick Castle on the Isle of Arran was originally built in the 13th century by the MacDougall clan, later held by the Campbell and subsequently the Stewart families. The castle is historically significant as a strategic stronghold in the Clyde and as a symbol of the island's medieval and later Scottish heritage.
