This green commemorative plaque records: Arnside Station. Opened for passengers on the Arnside-Lancaster Railway c 1857. Hincaster Branch opened 1976. Original, half-timbered syle, station replaced by present building on acquisition of the railway by the L.M.S. c 1922. Recorded plaque organisation: Arnside Parish Council.

Arnside railway station, opened circa 1857 as part of the Arnside-Lancaster Railway, served local communities until its closure in the 1960s; its replacement building from around 1922 reflects the architectural style favored by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway.
