Armorial plaque (present location) in Mosney

A stone with an armorial crest supported by two angels that came from the church at Irishtown (ME028-017----) is built into a wall of Mosney House (Ward 1965, 255). It bears the arms of Barnwall with a family represented by a toothed cross, and is probably 16th century in date. A decorated spandrel (ME028-012003-) is also in the wall. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987).
