Ardrossan, Castle Hill, Drill Hall

Drill Hall (first World War), Drill Hall (19th Century) - (20th Century)

What is recorded here

Ardrossan Drill Hall on Castle Hill trained soldiers from the 19th Century through the first World War. Its exact position remains marked although the building no longer answers every knock. Men likely marched across that hill in darkness, their boots striking stone until muscle remembered the route. The hill keeps the rhythm even when the hall disappears.
