Architectural fragment in Clonroad Beg

Architectural fragment

What is recorded here

Clonroad Beg holds a carved limestone corbel that once supported a roof in Kilmacreehy church. The fragment survives because a building fell, a head remained visible, and someone carried it to Clare Museum in Ennis. It is small enough to hold and old enough to have watched an entire region change around it.
On display in Clare Museum, Ennis. A limestone corbel with a finely carved head from Kilmacreehy church (CL015-083001-). CL033-180----_01.jpg attached. Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 22 October 2014
