Architectural feature in Monaincha

Architectural feature

What is recorded here

In 1922, Crawford's photograph of the high cross at Monaincha shows that the head of the cross sat directly into the base without any evidence for a shaft, beside this cross there as a small ringed cross which appears to have been the gable finial of the church at Monaincha (JRSAI 1922, 81). There are no traces of this finial at Monaincha. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien. Date of upload: 22 September 2008
