Early Medieval cross slabs at St Maelrubha's Monastery, Applecross, are associated with the spread of Christianity in the Scottish Highlands, likely dating to the 7th–9th centuries. They may have served as grave markers or preaching crosses, linked to the monastic foundation attributed to the Irish saint Maelrubha.
