Anchorage, opposite Pwll Castle in Pembrokeshire, dates to the Ôl-ganoloesol period and still holds the shape of a working harbour. Boats may have entered through the castle gap, pulling up ropes while men watched the water for danger. The sea gave up nothing, but it gave life to everyone who depended on it.
