Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Ancantha as Steam Trawler (period Unassigned)-(1915). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The *Anantha* was a steam trawler built in 1915, later converted to a drift trawler. It was lost in 1940 during World War II after striking a mine off the north-east coast of Scotland, resulting in the loss of all 35 crew members; its wreck is now a protected site and a significant maritime war memorial.
