Allt y Ferin holds a medieval earthwork castle and the possible remains of a summer house, suggesting a place where practical defence met seasonal pleasure. The distinction between a fortress and a retreat may have blurred when people lived there, building walls to keep out danger yet shaping rooms for light and warmth.
