Dr Alfred Cox OBE was a prominent physician, surgeon, and co-founder of the Gateshead Queen Victoria Nursing Association, significantly contributing to medical practice and healthcare administration; he served as Medical Secretary of the British Medical Association from 1912-1931 and received the BMA's Gold Medal in 1931 for his contributions.
