This black commemorative plaque records: Sir Alexander Ogston (1844-1929) Professor of Surgery, surgical innovator and distinguished military surgeon lived in a house on this site from 1870 to 1929. In 1881 Ogston discovered the Staphylococcus organism in a laboratory he constructed in his garden. Recorded plaque organisation: Aberdeen City Council.
