Alex Higgins

Hurricane Higgins was born in Belfast on 18 March 1949, the same city where he died in 2010. He turned local birth into world history by winning snooker's biggest title at twenty-two and again a decade later. His fast balls, stubborn heart and uncontrollable temper made people love him before they understood the damage he dealt himself.
