This blue commemorative plaque records: Albert Baldwin Bantock. Alderman Bantock JP Mayor 1905-6-7 & 1914 - 15. Bequeathed Bantock (Merridale) House to the citizens of Wolverhampton. Opened 22nd April 1948. "He lived here and loved this place". Recorded plaque organisation: Friends of Bantock House Museum and Park, Wolverhampton Civic Society.
Albert Baldwin Bantock served as the Mayor of Wolverhampton four times and is remembered for bequeathing Bantock House to the city, which opened as a public facility in 1948.
