This blue commemorative plaque records: Alan Turing 1912 - 1954 mathematician, computer pioneer and code breaker
Alan Turing was a pioneering mathematician and computer scientist whose work in cracking the Enigma code significantly aided the Allies during World War II, and he is also renowned for his foundational contributions to theoretical computer science, including the concept of the Universal Turing Machine.
