This blue commemorative plaque records: Speedbird 1939-48 Airways House. Capt. Bill Leck, Empire 530 C-Class GAFCI Champion. This building was a part of the first operational headquarters of BOAC, whose flying boats left Poole for the USA & the British Empire. Recorded plaque organisation: Poole Flying Boats.
Airways House served as the initial operational headquarters for BOAC, facilitating critical transatlantic and imperial flights during its early years; it played a significant role in the development of global air travel infrastructure post-World War II.
