Adolph Leipner was a German-born botanist who established Bristol's first University Botanic Garden at Woodland Road in the 19th century. He was also a co-founder of the Bristol Naturalists' Society and lived in the area from 1870 until his death in 1894, contributing significantly to the study and promotion of natural history in the region.
