This gold commemorative plaque records: Adelaide House Queen Adelaide, wife of William IV, stayed here during the winter of 1835-6 c. 1830
Queen Adelaide of Saxe-Meiningen was the consort to King William IV of the United Kingdom; she is remembered for her charitable works and support of education initiatives during her time as queen consort in the early 19th century.
