Achnacloich Castle belonged to the lairds of Achnacloich and stood two hundred yards east of the loch before men removed nearly every stone. Only a dungeon fragment resisted that erasure, yet even it vanished beneath a heap of field stones on the knoll's south slope. The castle did not collapse under storm or siege; it was taken apart, likely brick by brick, its materials carried elsewhere to build something that still stands. What remains is absence shaped like a room, waiting for someone to imagine the hands that emptied it.
