Aberdeen's lost castle stood behind Gallowgate walls, a medieval fortress now erased from memory but never forgotten by the city's bones. Its chambers may have held guards, lovers or thieves, and its stones may still lie buried beneath modern streets. The absence does not diminish it; it sharpens the longing for what the city stopped showing the world.
