Abbotsmoss, St. John's Well

St. John's Well at Abbotsmoss is traditionally associated with St. John the Baptist and was likely used for healing and baptismal rites. Holy wells dedicated to St. John were commonly visited on St. John's Eve (23–24 June) for their supposed curative properties, particularly for skin ailments and general wellness.
