Abbotsbury Castle is an Iron Age hillfort on Wears Hill in Dorset, England. Its triangular earthworks contain four and a half acres, while four ramparts mark the south-eastern end where the defences grew stronger. A small squarish feature at the west end has been conjectured as a Roman signal post, though excavation rejected that idea. The ridge still holds the shape of people who watched the land, changed the gates and left behind a boundary sharp enough to argue with centuries later.
