This blue commemorative plaque records: ABBA launched their career after winning the 19th Eurovision Song Contest for Sweden at the Brighton Dome on 6 April 1974. Recorded plaque organisation: BBC Music, British Plaque Trust.
ABBA, consisting of Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, are remembered as one of the most successful pop groups in history, launching their international career by winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with "Waterloo," and subsequently dominating the global music scene during the 1970s.
