What is recorded here
Seventy-five metres north east of Castle Hill Farm, a henge circle waited through centuries before becoming a medieval playing place. Children may have chased each other between the stones while adults watched from the grass, turning ancient geometry into a living game. The earth kept both ages intact, preserving the henge and the joyful noise it once held.
The National Heritage List for England records A henge re-used as a medieval playing place, 75m north east of Castle Hill Farm as a scheduled monument. The saved point comes from the centre supplied by the official record. Listing does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
