A’ Chàbag is a headland composed primarily of Lewisian gneiss, some of the oldest rock formations in Scotland, dating back approximately 2.7 to 3 billion years. These metamorphic rocks formed deep within the Earth's crust through intense heat and pressure, and were later exposed by erosion, making the headland notable for its ancient geological history.
